MEET BLAME APHRODITE

Ravi Surdhar

Rhythm Guitar

Ravi Surdhar grew up playing the piano and various instruments in band class, but first picked up an electric guitar in high school and immediately fell in love. He's been involved with various rock cover bands over the years, playing a variety of styles from pop punk to metal to classic rock.

He grew up in Boulder, Colorado, but has called Seattle home since 2021. When he's not playing guitar, you can find him climbing, skiing, and designing satellites for SpaceX.

First Concert: Blink-182, Green Day, & Jimmy Eat World
Most Seen Band: Silverstein

Ryan Vaughan

Lead Guitar

Ryan grew up in Maine and moved to Seattle in 2024 after a stint in California. Although he first played guitar as a kid, he only got serious about practicing in the last 5 years. He joined the local music scene via North Seattle Music Project, playing guitar, bass and/or singing. Ryan is an amateur music historian and loves music documentaries and biographies. Although enjoying everything from broadway to heavy metal, melodic hard rock is his favorite genre.

Ryan is also an animal lover, avid reader, and enjoys the outdoors snowboarding, biking, and hiking.

First Concert: Goldfinger
Most Seen Band: 311

Jeff Morgenroth

Bass

Western-Washington local Jeff’s musical journey began at 13-years old, when his older brother played Iron Maiden’s “Number of the Beast” in the car on the way to a family Christmas event. “Oh,” Jeff thought, “THIS is what real music sounds like!”. Flash forward three decades and Jeff finally decided to start making music himself, inspired by the bass legends in the hard rock pantheon.

When not on stage or locked in the office practicing, you can find him doing more weird stuff around the region like teaching martial arts, making games, exploring mountains and underwater, and immersing himself in everything as far from real-life as possible.

First Concert: "Weird Al" Yankovic
Most Seen Band: Rush / Porcupine Tree

Steven Miller

Drums & Backing Vocals

Steven is originally from Michigan where he played in dozens of cover and original bands of various genres. A job transfer brought him to the Seattle area from Detroit in 1999, and he’s continued to play and perform all around the Seattle area since. When not playing music he can often be found in his home workshop building his own brand of guitars and basses.

First Concert: Boston
Most Seen Band: Blue Oyster Cult

Maekenna Shaye

Lead vocals

Maekenna Shaye is a vocalist and songwriter. She grew up timidly singing in school productions and with a church youth group band. However, it wasn't until her early 20's where she really discovered her voice and overcame stage fright thanks to karaoke.

She answered the call to embrace her "hidden" talent by taking vocal lessons and performing shows with School of Rock Lynnwood. She has since "dropped out" to focus on Blame Aphrodite and songwriting.

Maekenna was born and raised in Southern California and relocated to Washington in 2016. While she loves music, she is also a dog mom of 2 and an avid fan of horror flicks, comic books, and sports.

First Concert: Styx, REO Speedwagon, & Survivor
Most Seen Band: The Dirty Heads
